HOW TO GET A HEAD START

--THESE ARE THINGS YOU CAN SAFELY.  IF YOU MEET EVEN A COUPLE OF THESE, IT WILL SAVE YOU PRECIOUS TIME.

--Call (916) 229-3126 or (213) 744-7563 or (858) 495-3676.   Start with the (916) number because it's the DMV headquarters in Sacramento.  Ask them to send you a “used car dealer application packet”.  It has all the paperwork you need to get licensed. If you wish, you can download the forms from www.dmv.ca.gov

--Name your business and get fictitious name statement.  Call 411 and ask for the county recorder’s office for the county you’re in and file the statement.  (The county recorder will fill you in with details -  It's easy.)

--Get your Live Scan fingerprints done.  In your application packet you will find the blank fingerprint form.  Go to http://ag.ca.gov/fingerprints/publications/contact.pdf to find the nearest fingerprint station.

--Get your seller’s permit from Board of Equalization!  Just call (800) 400-7115 to make an appointment.  It's free to get a Seller's Permit.  Be sure to have your business address and bring your driver license and social security card!

--Get your city business license.  Call 411 and ask for the "business license department" or "business registration department" of your city.
